Where the Mountain Stands Alone is a recent publication of an anthology of essays collected by the Monadnock Institute of Nature, Place & Culture. The Institute, housed at Franklin Pierce College in Rindge, seeks to foster the creation of a place-grounded existence for individuals and communities in the Monadnock Region. The book, which is suggested reading for chat participants, traces how the Monadnock region evolved over time and attempts to explore two questions: "What makes the Monadnock region special to those who live here?" and "What does the future hold for the region?"
John Harris, Executive Director of the Institute and Howard Mansfield, writer and editor of Where the Mountain Stands Alone," will lead the discussion.
