Shaping New Hampshire’s Future

Each year, Leadership New Hampshire brings together a dynamic group of 35 to 40 passionate and accomplished leaders. Over the course the program year, our associates gain a deep understanding of the critical issues shaping our state’s future and forge lasting connections with a diverse network of leaders from across New Hampshire. And most importantly, associates discover meaningful pathways to leverage their talents and contribute to their community and the state in significant leadership roles.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is the ideal candidate for LNH?

Leadership New Hampshire seeks individuals who are curious, committed to making a positive impact, and eager to learn more about the people, issues, and institutions shaping New Hampshire. Ideal candidates are leaders with a track record of accomplishment from a wide range of sectors and backgrounds who are ready to engage, connect, and contribute to the state’s future.

Is financial aid available?

Yes, Leadership New Hampshire aims to create the “best class ever” each year. To this end, LNH is committed to ensuring that financial aid is available to lower the barrier of cost for participants who would otherwise be unable to join the program. As our financial aid resources are limited, however, every dollar awarded to one applicant reduces the amount available to others. As such, we encourage applicants to thoughtfully assess their need and seek employer and external support first, allowing us to prioritize those for whom other funding options are unavailable.

This scholarship process is separate from the program’s acceptance process and candidates will be notified of any award amount at the time of their acceptance to the program. Accepted candidates will have time to review the award amount before a commitment to participate is required.

How competitive is the selection process?

The selection process is competitive, with more applicants than available spots each year. Our goal is to build a diverse class representing a wide range of sectors, geographies, perspectives, and lived experiences across New Hampshire. Strong applicants demonstrate community engagement, commitment to the state’s future, and the potential to make an even greater impact.

What is the time commitment?

If accepted to the LNH, participants commit to attending the mandatory opening overnight retreat in September and 10 full-day sessions-typically held on Thursdays-from October to May. Outside of session days, there may be light reading or session day preparation.

Full participation is essential to get the most out of the program and to foster strong connections within the class.

What is the cost?

Tuition is $4,500 and includes all food, lodging, and materials during the program year. Associates are responsible for their own transportation to and from session locations.

Where are the sessions held?

Leadership New Hampshire sessions are held in various locations across the state to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of New Hampshire’s diverse regions. These locations are determined annually and may vary each year, with the aim of having each session day in a different region of the state.
